Green@Home House Calls uses trained volunteers to coach residents on energy and water savings opportunities in their home and install free energy-saving devices. The service is available to renters or owners, so the Green@Home program can serve an entire community.

Currently, Green@Home is available for free for residents in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City, Cupertino, and Sunnyvale.

Program Benefits and Accomplishments

The Green@Home House Calls program provides practical and immediate energy saving steps for residents to save energy. It also creates energy saving awareness amongst residents and volunteers.

Since 2007, the Green@Home program has served over 450 residents in Silicon Valley. Volunteer teams currently serve about 30 residents a week in five communities: Cupertino; Menlo Park; Redwood City; Palo Alto; and Sunnyvale.

The Green@Home program is very cost effective. Cities considering subsidies for residential energy audits will find that their dollars stretch further with the Green@Home House Calls. Acterra can provide detailed quantitative information about the program's long-term energy saving results.
